Dr. Zoë Lindo is an expert in soil biodiversity and ecosystem function.  They have worked extensively in Canadian forests including the mixed-wood boreal of Alberta, the subarctic taiga of Quebec, the coastal temperate rainforest of British Columbia, and the black spruce / peatlands of Ontario.  In their spare time, Dr. Lindo discovers and describes new species of soil arthropods. Dr. Zoe Lindo was awarded the 2019 Faculty Scholars Award for her groundbreaking research.

She leads her Lindo Lab researchers in a research program focused on soil biodiversity, with particular emphasis on soil fauna, their ecology, and their role in ecosystem processes. As a group, they study the diversity of life below ground using field-based, experimental, and taxonomic approaches.
