Dr. Genevieve de Viveiros, Department of French Studies, Western University, researches the works of Émile Zola and Jane de la Vaudère, naturalism around the world, 19th-century literary history, theatre, and letter writing. She is also interested in the work of Nancy Huston. At its core, her work explores how culture, ideas, opinions and news traveled across Europe and North America during the 19th Century.
