Abouzar Sadrekarimi, Ph.D., P. Eng., is Associate Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering and Research Director, Geotechnical Research Centre at Western University, and also worked in a professional engineering practice as a Geotechnical Engineer at Golder Associates Limited between 2009-2011. He studies the mechanical behaviour and strength of geomaterials, including soil, mine waste, tire derived aggregates, organic soils, and peat and innovative techniques to improve their strength so they can withstand structural loads.
