BIO

Professor Michael T. Hallett, Department of Biochemistry and Department of Oncology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, conducts research in bioinformatics focused on breast cancer, genomics, computational biology, artificial intelligence, and biomarker panels. He investigates the molecular events that drive the earliest stages of breast cancer progression, especially the transition to invasive disease, and develops analytic tools that help identify which patients are most likely to benefit from treatment. His mission is to improve precision in early breast cancer care while reducing overtreatment. He is Western Research Chair in Bioinformatics.
