Dr. Andreas Antoniou completed medical school at the University of Toronto then joined the Anesthesiology Residency Program at Western University. Following this, he completed a one-year Fellowship in Medical Simulation at Western University.

Dr. Antoniou is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine and is one of the Simulation Educators in the Department. He is the founder of the Interdisciplinary, In-Situ Simulation Program in Obstetrical Anesthesia, where participants include anesthesia residents, obstetrics and gynecology residents, obstetrical nurses and respiratory therapists. He is also the Western University lead for the Canadian National Anesthesia Simulation Curriculum (CanNASC). Past roles held in the Department include Associate Program Director, Co-Ordinator of the Anesthesia Undergraduate Simulation Program, and Coordinator of the Academic Half Day Lecture Series.

Dr. Antoniou’s education interests include Crisis Resource Management and Team Training, Interdisciplinary, In-Situ Simulation and using simulation for evaluation purposes.
