Constanza Burucúa is Professor in the Department of Languages and Cultures and Graduate Chair of Hispanic Studies, Professor in Comparative Literature, and Associate Faculty Member in Centre for the Study of Theory and Criticism at Western University. Dr. Burucúa researches Latin American cinema, documentary, women filmmakers, world cultures/global screens, and national and cultural identity. Her research mission is to examine film as a social and aesthetic practice through questions of identity, historiography, gender, and global circulation in Hispanic and transnational contexts. Her documentary and web-documentary productions, including research and producing work on Venezuelan and Expo 67 projects, underscore a public-facing and interdisciplinary research profile.
