BIO

Dr. Weir earned his MD in 2003 from Queen’s University, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at Western University. In 2008, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. In 2011, Dr. Weir joined the Department of Medicine at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and in 2013, received his Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Western University. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Schulich.

Dr. Weir is also the Medical Director of the Kidney Care Centre and the Medical Director of the Hemodialysis Unit at the University Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC).

Dr. Weir’s research encompasses clinical trials and basic pharmacokinetics, with a primary focus on health administrative database research. Collaborating with nephrologists across Ontario through the ICES Kidney Dialysis Transplantation program and in partnership with the Ontario Renal Network, Dr. Weir leverages the principles of integrated knowledge translation to drive research aimed at improving kidney care for Ontarians.
