Professor Giovanni Fanchini conducts research in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Department of Chemistry at Western University. His work focuses on nanomaterials, solar energy conversion, and organic electronics, particularly the development of thin-film devices for renewable power. He investigates the optoelectronic properties of carbon-based materials and their application in sustainable fuel production. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from the Politecnico di Torino, he is a key member of the Institute for Chemicals and Fuels from Alternative Resources. He supervises graduate researchers in materials science and is currently available for academic mentorship.
