Professor Lars Rehmann conducts research in the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Western University. His scholarly work focuses on bioprocess engineering, biofuels, and wastewater treatment, particularly the conversion of agricultural waste into value-added products. He investigates the application of metabolic engineering to improve the efficiency of microbial fermentations for industrial use. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Saskatchewan and is a key member of the WesternWater Centre. He teaches advanced biochemical engineering and actively supervises students exploring sustainable bioproducts, and he is available for new graduate student inquiries.
