BIO
Professor Rodney P. DeKoter holds joint appointments in Microbiology and Immunology and Oncology at Western University. His research centers on B cell development and the molecular mechanisms of leukemia and lymphoma. He investigates how the PU.1 transcription factor regulates immune system function and prevents oncogenic transformation. His mission is to identify novel genetic targets for the treatment of hematological malignancies. Dr. DeKoter provides extensive supervision for graduate and doctoral students. He is a lead researcher in molecular immunology and holds a Doctor of Philosophy, focusing on the genetic basis of immune cell differentiation and disease.
