Renée E. Mazinegiizhigo-kwe Bédard is of Anishinaabeg ancestry and a member of Dokis First Nation. Bédard is an Assistant Professor in the  Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies and in Indigenous Studies at Western University. She holds a PhD from Trent University and previously worked at Nipissing University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Native Studies. Dr. Bédard's area of publication includes work related to Anishinaabeg mothering, maternal education, and contemporary issues facing Anishinaabeg women.
