Associate Professor Stephen Barr is a researcher in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Western University. His research focuses on virology and host-pathogen interactions, specifically investigating the innate immune response to HIV and emerging viral threats. He utilizes molecular biology techniques to identify host factors that inhibit viral replication. His mission is to discover novel antiviral targets that can prevent or treat devastating viral infections. He provides extensive supervision for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in laboratory research.
