Professor Vania Prado is a researcher in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology and the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Western University. Her primary investigative work centers on cholinergic signaling, neurochemistry, and cognition with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases. She seeks to understand how the regulation of acetylcholine affects memory and attention in models of Alzheimer's and Huntington's disease. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, she is a scientist at the Robarts Research Institute. She supervises graduate students exploring the molecular basis of cognitive function and is currently available for doctoral mentorship in the Western Institute for Neuroscience.
