BIO

Professor Amanda Moehring conducts research in the Department of Biology at Western University. Her scholarly work emphasizes behavioral genetics, neurogenetics, and evolution, particularly the genetic basis of species variation in behavior and the impact of mistranslation on fitness. She investigates how specific genes influence complex traits such as mating preferences in model organisms. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from North Carolina State University, she is a member of the Western Institute for Neuroscience and the Rotman Institute of Philosophy. She supervises graduate students in the fields of genetics, neuroscience, and evolutionary biology and is currently available for new research mentorship.
