BIO

Professor Marlys Koschinsky is a researcher in the Department of Biochemistry and the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Western University. Her primary investigative work centers on lipoprotein(a), atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular risk with a focus on the molecular mechanisms of heart disease. She seeks to understand how specific lipoproteins contribute to the development of arterial plaques and calcific aortic valve disease. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of British Columbia, she is a scientist at the Robarts Research Institute.
