Jin Zhang is a full Professor of the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Western University. She is also cross-appointed to the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, and Medical Biophysics at Western. Dr. Zhang’s expertise and research interests include the design, processing, surface modification, and characterization of nanocomposites for the applications in various fields for both the environment and public well-being. 

Dr. Zhang's achievements and contributions have been recognized by Early Research Award of Ontario, the Grand Challenges Canada-Canadian Rising Stars in Global Health, Outstanding Mid-Career Achievements in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in Ontario, etc. Her research work on "Non-invasive Diagnostic Tool for Diabetes” was reported by the worldwide media, including the Discovery Channel, CTV, the Institute of Nanotechnology (IoN), and Nanotechnology Now, etc. In addition, Jin Zhang serves as Associate Editor/Guest Editor for journals, e.g. Associate Editor of IEEE Transaction on Nanobioscience.
