Associate Professor Joel Gagnier conducts research in the Department of Surgery and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University. His scholarly work emphasizes clinical epidemiology, orthopedic research, and systematic reviews, particularly the assessment of patient-reported outcomes following surgery. He investigates the methodological quality of clinical trials to ensure that evidence-based practices are applied to musculoskeletal health. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science, he is a core member of the Bone and Joint Institute. He supervises graduate students in the field of health research methodology and is currently available for academic mentorship and doctoral supervision.
