RESEARCH INTERESTS

1. Functional Optical Materials

Developing advanced inorganic solid-state materials and nanomaterials with tailored optical properties for applications in LEDs, optical sensing, bioimaging, and security technologies.

Current research interests include:

  • Persistent luminescent materials with tunable visible and near-infrared emission
  • High-efficiency phosphors for solid-state lighting and horticultural lighting
  • Functional luminescent nanoparticles
  • Optically active composite biomaterials for imaging-guided drug delivery

2. Spectroscopy-Guided Materials Design

Using advanced X-ray and optical spectroscopy to understand the relationships between electronic structure, local atomic environment, and functional properties, enabling rational design of next-generation materials.

Current research interests include:

  • Synchrotron X-ray absorption and emission spectroscopy
  • Electronic structure characterization of optical, electronic, and energy materials
  • Mechanistic studies of luminescence and energy transfer processes
