Tobias Nagl, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and Writing Studies and a core faculty member in Centre for the Study of Theory and Criticism at Western University. Dr. Nagl teaches and researches in the areas of film studies, cultural studies, and visual politics. His research mission is to examine how cinema engages race, representation, and modernity across transnational film cultures, especially in European and German contexts. Nagl’s scholarship on Weimar cinema and race has been especially influential.
