Associate Professor Scott Schaffer conducts research in the Department of Sociology at Western University. His scholarly work focuses on social theory, globalization, and ethics, particularly the social conditions that influence human responsibility and solidarity. He investigates the intersection of political sociology and social justice to understand how individuals and groups respond to systemic inequality and marginalization. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of California, San Diego, he is a member of the Rotman Institute of Philosophy. He teaches courses in sociological theory and supervises graduate students interested in social change, and he is currently available for academic mentorship and research consultation.
