Professor Farahnaz F. Faez serves within the Faculty of Education at Western University, specializing in curriculum studies and studies in applied linguistics. Her research focuses on second language teacher education and the linguistic identities of internationally educated teachers. By weaving in keywords like multilingual education, ESL teacher education, and linguistic identities, she explores how cultural backgrounds influence pedagogical practices. Dr. Faez’s mission is to reconceptualize language proficiency frameworks to support diverse educators in K-12 programs. She teaches graduate seminars on second language teaching and supervises doctoral candidates investigating multicultural education and social justice in schools.
