Professor Carl Young, Department of History, Faculty of Social Science, Western University, researches modern Korea, religion, intellectual history, social movements, and East Asia. His research focus is modern Korean history, especially the relationship among religion, reform, and political change. He teaches and supervises in Korean and East Asian history at Western University, and his profile highlights sustained scholarship on the Tonghak movement and Ch’ondogyo.
