BIO

Associate Professor Blake Butler serves in the Department of Psychology at Western University. His research program integrates neuroplasticity, sensory deprivation, and auditory development to investigate how the brain adapts to changes in sensory input. He specifically focuses on how early-life hearing experience shapes the organization of the auditory cortex and influences cross-modal reorganization. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from McMaster University, he is affiliated with the National Centre for Audiology and the Western Institute for Neuroscience. He teaches courses in biological psychology and supervises graduate students in the Sensory Plasticity Laboratory, currently welcoming inquiries from prospective researchers.
