Assistant Professor Ricardo Viana conducts research in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Western University. His scholarly work focuses on rehabilitation science, stroke recovery, and clinical epidemiology, particularly the assessment of health-related quality of life after central nervous system injury. He investigates the effectiveness of interdisciplinary care models in improving functional independence for patients with complex disabilities. Holding a Medical Degree and fellowship training, he is a member of the Bone and Joint Institute. He provides clinical instruction and supervises graduate researchers in the field of physical therapy and medicine, and he is available for student mentorship.
