Prof. Christina Booker is a teaching scholar and assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at Western University and teaches in the Integrated Science program. She serves as vice-chair of the Chemistry Education Division, Chemical Institute of Canada.
She obtained her PhD in Analytical Chemistry and Honours BSc in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology from Western University.
She is passionate about engaging students in their learning, working to build problem-solving skills, and fostering a sense of belonging for students in science. Christina is exploring how AI tools can be used strategically to support student learning in large-enrolment courses. Prof. Booker was awarded the 2025 Faculty of Science Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Marilyn Robinson Award for Excellence Teaching in recognition of her exceptional contributions to first-year chemistry and to the Western Integrated Science program, her leadership in re-designing Chemistry 1301A/1302B with blended and flipped classroom approaches, innovative team-based learning activities, integration of experiential demonstrations, and other highly impactful additions to the curriculum.
