Associate Professor Lillian Barra serves in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Western University. Her research program integrates rheumatology, vasculitis, and autoimmunity to improve the diagnosis and treatment of systemic inflammatory diseases. She specifically investigates the role of autoantibodies in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis and its cardiovascular complications. Having earned a Medical Degree and a Master of Public Health, she is a member of the Bone and Joint Institute. She supervises graduate students in the field of clinical epidemiology and immunology and is currently available for doctoral student mentorship and collaborative research inquiries.
