Associate Professor Ian M. Ball, Departments of Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on trauma, end-of-life care, organ donation, critical care medicine, and military medicine. His work bridges acute care research with system-level questions about care for severely ill and injured patients, including those connected to military service. His research mission is to improve outcomes in critical illness through clinically grounded research, better decision-making, and stronger care systems. He also serves in academic leadership in Critical Care and contributes to teaching across medicine and epidemiology at Western University.
