At St Joseph’s family medical Centre, Dr. Lyons is an academic physician and team lead. She is an Associate Professor and full-time faculty member at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University, and provides supervision, teaching and mentoring to medical students and residents. Dr. Laura Lyons practices cradle to grave medicine providing intrapartum obstetrics to palliative care. Her roles include, Deputy Physician Executive for Family Medicine at London Health Sciences Centre, and Director of Family Medicine Obstetrics for the Citywide Department of Family Medicine.

In 2021, Dr. Lyons was awarded the Family Physician of the Year Award, for Southwestern Ontario, from the Ontario
Medical Association. In addition, Dr. Lyons is an addiction medicine specialist, who is a valued consultant
on addiction in pregnancy. Dr. Lyons is actively involved in hospital and community programs that
support people who use drugs. Dr Lyons is active in research and presents regularly at conferences on
pregnancy complicated by psychosocial risks, mental health and addictions.
