Professor Charles Weijer holds appointments in the Department of Philosophy and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University. His globally recognized research involves bioethics, clinical trial ethics, and research ethics, focusing on the protection of human participants. He was a primary architect of the Ottawa Statement on the ethical design of cluster randomized trials. Holding both a Medical Degree and a Doctor of Philosophy from McGill University, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. He supervises students in medicine and philosophy and is currently available for consultation on ethical trial design.
