BIO

Shahbaz Sheikh is Professor of Finance at the DAN department of Management and Organizational Studies and a Senior Fellow, Network for Economic and Social Trends (NEST), Faculty of Social Science, Western University. He also serves on Western’s Joint Pension Board. Before joining Western in 2005, he taught at International Business School and the Department of Economics at Brandeis University, USA. His research interests are in the areas of Corporate Finance, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Corporate Governance. His research has been published in prestigious Finance journals like Journal of Corporate FinanceFinancial Review, International Review of Financial Analysis, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Finance Research Letters, International Journal of Managerial Finance, Global Finance Journal, International Journal of Finance & Economics, Journal of Multinational Financial Management, Research in International Business and Finance, Journal of Economics and Business, Review of Accounting and Finance, and Quarterly Journal of Finance and Accounting. Dr. Sheikh teaches courses in Corporate Finance, Derivatives and Risk Management. He is an award-winning professor and has received multiple teaching awards including the CMA Teaching Award (three times)University Student Council (USC) Teaching Honour Roll, and the top Faculty of Social Science Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
