Professor Tamie Poepping serves in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Western University. Her research integrates hemodynamics, microfluidics, and biomedical physics to investigate the mechanics of blood flow in cardiovascular disease and develop lab-on-chip devices for a range of applications. She specifically focuses on developing laser-based and ultrasound techniques for flow visualization and stroke risk assessment. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from Western University, she is cross-appointed to the Department of Medical Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering. She is a member of the Bone and Joint Institute and the Institute for Earth and Space Exploration (Western Space), and she is currently available for doctoral supervision in the field of biomedical fluid mechanics, microfluidics, and frugal biomedical engineering.
