As a political psychologist who uses experimental and lab-based studies, she investigates how social identities (e.g. gender), emotion, motivations, and our perceptions of others impact political attitudes and behaviours. Recently, she was awarded a large SSHRC grant to study the impact of political stress on the mental health of Canadians and design interventions to manage this stress and reduce the impact on the healthcare system while still encouraging democratic participation.
