Professor Yolanda Morbey is an evolutionary movement ecologist with an overarching research objective to understand how seasonal environments structure animal life histories and annual cycles, or more simply, their timing. Morbey graduated with a bachelor of science degree from the University of Victoria. Without taking a break, she moved away from home and pursued her master of science and PhD degrees at Simon Fraser University. While a student, Morbey worked several field jobs during her summers. After completing her PhD, she worked as a researcher at the University of Toronto for three years. She then moved to Owen Sound for another research project. 

Now at Western University, Department of biology, Morbey researches behavioural ecology, supervises graduate and undergraduate researchers, leads the research in the Morbey Lab, and works with the Western Centre for Animals on the Move (CAM).
