Professor Donald Welsh is situated in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Western University. His research specializes in vascular biology, microcirculation, and ion channels, focusing on the electrical signaling that coordinates blood flow in small resistance arteries. He works to clarify how disruptions in vascular communication contribute to hypertension and end-organ damage. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Guelph, he is a scientist at the Robarts Research Institute and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair.
