Professor Murray S. Junop, Department of Biochemistry, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on DNA damage, DNA repair, bacterial repair pathways, yeast repair pathways, and human repair pathways. His laboratory studies the molecular mechanisms governing repair of multiple forms of DNA damage using genetic and structural approaches to define how repair systems preserve genome integrity. His research mission is to understand how cells respond to genotoxic stress and how failures in repair contribute to disease. He holds a PhD from Western University and completed postdoctoral training at the National Institutes of Health.
