BIO
Dr. Dazhi Jiang, a structural geologist, is Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences, working in the Laboratory for Structural Geology & Tectonics at Western University. Dr. Jiang is also a Distinguished Professor at Northwest University, China. He integrates multiscale structural analysis with continuum physics and numerical modelling. A recent research concentration has been on developing self-consistent models based on continuum micromechanics for the understanding of multiscale fabrics in deformed rocks, as well as the application and validation of such models in orogenic belts. His monograph "Continuum Micromechanics: Theory and Application to Multiscale Tectonics" (https://link.springer.com/book/9783031233128) summarizes the current progress of his research.
