Professor Shalini L. L. Dhir, Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads scholarship in regional anesthesia, acute pain services, ultrasonography, continuous catheter regional anesthesia, and chronic pain. Western University materials identify her as Director of Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Services and describe a program that pioneers ultrasound-guided regional techniques, continuous catheter analgesia, and ambulatory regional analgesia at home. Her research mission is to improve perioperative pain control and patient recovery through safer and more effective regional anesthesia strategies.
