BIO

Professor Tony Weis conducts research in the Department of Geography and Environment at Western University. His scholarly work emphasizes political ecology, agrarian change, and environmental sustainability, particularly the global impacts of industrial livestock production. He investigates the intersection of food systems, biodiversity loss, and climate change to advocate for more equitable and resilient agricultural practices. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy from Queen's University, he is a member of the Rotman Institute of Philosophy. He teaches courses on the geography of the global food system and supervises graduate researchers in environmental studies, and he is currently available for academic mentorship.
