Assistant Professor Heather E. Hames serves in the Department of Medicine at Western University. Her research focuses on infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship, investigating the optimization of antibiotic use in acute care settings. She examines the impact of diagnostic stewardship on patient outcomes and the prevention of healthcare-associated infections. Her mission is to advance public health through the study of multidrug-resistant organisms and evidence-based prescribing. Dr. Hames provides clinical teaching and supervision for medical residents and infectious disease fellows. She is dedicated to improving the safety and efficacy of infection management within the Schulich School.
