BIO

Professor John Di Guglielmo, Department of Physiology and Pharmacology with appointment in Oncology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, leads research on endocytosis, autophagy, trafficking, transforming growth factor beta signaling, and epithelial mesenchymal transition. His lab uses immunofluorescence microscopy, Western blotting, subcellular fractionation, gene silencing, and pharmacological inhibition to study how intracellular trafficking alters signaling and promotes tumorigenesis. His research mission is to explain how core cell-biological processes drive cancer progression. He also teaches cellular physiology at Western University and is affiliated with the Centre for Translational Cancer Research.
