The fundamental goal of my research is to shed light on the regulatory processes that govern innate immune responses, with a special focus on macrophage function. Macrophages are integral to the innate immune system, serving as nimble orchestrators of immune responses and defense strategies against the ever-shifting threats posed by microorganisms and the microenvironment. These cells exhibit extraordinary adaptability, undergoing differentiation into a spectrum of functional states to address signals from the microenvironment promptly and efficiently during homeostasis, infection, and tumorigenesis. My current research is centered on unraveling the complex signaling pathways and epigenetic frameworks that empower macrophages to recalibrate their gene expression, steered by transcription factors and histone modification patterns.
